The SeaPad, what is it for?
This iPad is equipped with navigational software that has all the features which an ECDIS system has. It can be delivered with a wireless pilot plug device (PPU) that allows all sensor data to be integrated, including the AIS information. Furthermore it is compatible with all common chart formats, including official S63 ENC/AVCS charts. How can it be used?
- A mobile device which can be used anywhere onboard to monitor navigation. It is for example appreciated for use on the bridge wings.
- As an extra backup for the ECDIS systems. Even when both ECDIS systems are failing you will have this stand alone device with all chart data, ECDIS features and its own GPS and internet connection through its own 4g Sim card. It can therefore function as a “take me home” system.
- For navigation in Inland waters due to the compatibility with Inland ENC charts. This device guarantees maximum chart coverage.
- Large 12,9 inch screen display (iPad Pro)
- A wide variety of setup choices (handstraps, armor cases, protective glass, mounts, locks, etc)
